Officers investigating a dog attack which left four sheep dead say they can guarantee to animal won't be destroyed if the owner comes forward.
The attack happened at Glen Dhoo near the Ballaugh Plantation, resulting in the deaths of four sheep and orphaning a lamb.
The Northern Neighbourhood Policing Team says police won't destroy a dog that has attacked livestock, but will prosecute the owner.
However, officers warn the farmer has the option to shoot the dog during an attack, so the animal could be at risk if it attacks again.
Anyone with information on the attack at Glen Dhoo is asked to contact Police Headquarters.
