Island's inflation rate increases in February

The Island's inflation rate increased to 1.9% during February.

The Consumer Prices Index rose by 0.3% last month, marking the sixth month of positive inflation.

Oil and other fuels are almost 40% more expensive that at the same time 12 months ago, while petrol and tea have also seen big rises.

Meanwhile, women's outerwear and household consumables have dropped by almost a tenth, while bacon and other meats are also cheaper than at the same time last year.
