Beds in nursing homes on the Isle of Man are around 95% full.
Health and Social Care Minister Kate Beecroft confirmed the high demand for nursing care beds in this week's sitting of the House of Keys.
The Minister also revealed private and voluntary residential homes were at 97% of their capacity according to data collected between March and December last year.
Mrs Beecroft insists the figures are reasonably accurate, despite information on vacant beds being disclosed to the Department on a voluntary basis.
Government-run facilities were similarly in demand, with over 87% of spaces taken.
