Island's Brussels office costs over £300,000 in two years

Over £300,000 has been spent running the Isle of Man Government's Brussels office in the last two years.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle revealed in this week's sitting of the House of Keys that the facility cost just over £169,000 for the 2015-16 financial year, and has cost almost £159,000 so far in the current financial year.

However, operating the office came in £19,000 under budget last year, and is forecast to do the same this year.

Mr Quayle also confirmed that the office has produced a number of reports since being established in 2011, including three on the UK's EU referendum and the potential implications of Brexit.

The figures were revealed following a question from Onchan MHK Julie Edge.
