The Island's roads police are urging drivers to think before they answer their mobile phones behind the wheel.
The Roads Policing Unit is taking part in a national mobile phone enforcement week, cracking down on those who use their phones while driving.
Officers say mobile phones are now the biggest killer on the roads.
In the UK, the penalty for being caught using a mobile phone doubles from today, but the new legislation doesn't apply on the Island.
However, the police insist they will monitor the results and could recommend an increase to the penalty to the Home Affairs Minister if they think it's necessary.
