Weather warning issued ahead of more gales

The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning with severe gale force winds forecast to hit the Island today.

Winds reaching severe gale force nine are due to hit the Manx coast this morning, resulting in coastal overtopping in some areas.

Forecasters expect seawater and some debris to be washed onto coastal roads at high tide, particularly around Peel, Douglas, Castletown and Laxey.

Conditions are expected to improve from lunchtime.
