The Manannan will leave Douglas next week as the Steam Packet Company prepare the vessel for the start of the fastcraft's season.
The ferry operator kept the Manannan in Manx waters over the winter in order to be ready if cover was needed for the Ben-my-Chree, but it will head for a dry dock in Merseyside on Tuesday.
The vessel has been undergoing annual maintenance while in Douglas, and will have specialist work carried out while in dry dock before returning to service on March 31st.
The Manannan will also conduct a berthing trial in Larne in Northern Ireland as part of the Steam Packet's ongoing assessment of alternative facilities.
