How education is delivered on the Isle of Man will be updated over the next year.
The Department of Education and Children has revealed a new Education Bill will go before Tynwald in early 2018.
The Department says the new laws will update a number of areas, including how reports are provided to parents, school discipline and education for pupils with special needs.
Schools and professional bodies are already being consulted as the new legislation is drafted, while the public will also be consulted over the summer.
It's hoped the changes will be in place for the start of the 2018-19 academic year.
