Fire crews called out to chapel fire at Nunnery

Fire crews were called to an incident in the chapel within the Nunnery Grounds this morning.

A member of the public sounded the alarm after the building became smoke logged shortly after 8am.

Firefighters found a small fire which was quickly put out before using a ventilation fan to clear the building, leaving the chapel safe for occupants to re-enter.

Officers say no-one was injured during the incident and that there are no suspicious circumstances.
