Police are reminding the Manx public of the need to secure their properties after a Douglas man was convicted of domestic burglary.
The 42-year-old was handed a custodial sentence after being caught entering a home in Willaston through an insecure side window.
The man was spotted by a member of the public, allowing police to catch the offender while he was still inside the property.
Officers from the Isle of Man Constabulary say securing a property while no-one's home will reduce a criminal's opportunity to commit offences.
