Commissioners to take over management of Peel homes

Peel Town Commissioners are to take over the day-to-day management of public sector homes in the area.

The Department of Infrastructure has been responsible for the maintenance of 20 homes in Carmane Close and Derby Drive, but they will be transferred to the local authority from Monday next week.

The change will be piloted for two years, and could be rolled out to other housing areas if successful.

It's hoped the move will reduce management costs and give residents a single point of contact.
