Police issue further Microsoft scam warning

Police have issued a further warning about scammers claiming to be from Microsoft Support targetting Manx residents.

One resident reported getting a hoax call this morning from someone saying he had a virus on his computer and giving instructions on how to fix it.

Once the recipient of the call said he owns a Mac, the caller changed their story to say they work for Apple.

Officers warn these callers only want to steal personal details for criminal purposes, and that anyone contacted in this way should not give personal information out.
