Planning permission is being sought to change an apartment building in Douglas into tourist accommodation.
The Nelson Hotel on Mona Drive was already being converted into eight apartments, but the developer now wants the building to contain nine units of serviced accommodation for visitors.
The application for the change says the current climate shows a greater demand for tourism facilities rather than flats, and that the new plans would create jobs for locals.
The developer says it already has an existing hotel in talks to run the building, and that the site could be ready in time for the peak tourism season this year.
