A daily limit for catching king scallops in Manx waters is being lifted from today.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture believes the 1400kg limit that has been in place since November has helped keep stocks sustainable.
The limit was brought in following concern over the size of catches some vessels were landing early in the king scallop season.
DEFA also says its planning to undertake a scientific stock assessment of king scallops to get a better understanding of stocks around the Island.
The king scallop fishing season runs until the end of May.
