Significant damage following Laxey house fire

An investigation is underway by the Island's fire service following a blaze at a house in Laxey.

Fire crews were called to the property in South Cape shortly before 3pm yesterday.

While no-one was trapped inside, the well-established fire caused significant damage to the ground floor of the house and smoke damage throughout the rest of the building.

Officers are working to establish the cause of the fire.
