A local charity wants to improve facilities at Noble's hospital for teenagers and young people with chronic and life-threatening conditions.
Bridge the Gap believes a separate room with age appropriate facilities could help young people having to attend the hospital for medical treatment on a regular basis.
The charity hasn't been able to find space inside the hospital for its room, so will build a pod in one of the courtyards.
The pod will give patients somewhere to meet with a youth worker, wait for tests and get away from the hospital environment during their appointments.
The project is expected to cost around £50,000, with the charity having already started fundraising efforts for the facility.
