The Department of Infrastructure says it will be sending out its gritters to keep Manx roads as clear as possible.
Wintry showers can often result in road closures and slippery driving conditions on the Island.
The Department will deploy bulk gritters on primary routes which carry the most traffic, as well as areas that tend to be worst affected by wintry weather, including the Sloc, Archallagan and Round Table.
Grit is generally spread after rush hour or in the early hours of the morning before frost forms.
The DoI is also urging the public to take responsibility for footpaths outside their own homes using grit from the 850 salt bins placed in residential areas.
