School wants bag fund grant to make site greener

One of the Island's secondary schools is hoping to secure a grant to make its site greener.

Ballakermeen High School is one of the latest nominees for the Tesco Bags of Help initiative.

The supermarket's scheme sees three local projects shortlisted every month for funds, with customers voting which gets the biggest grant.

Ballakermeen wants to plant bushes, trees and flowers throughout its grounds to make the site greener and a more pleasant area for pupils to use during lunch and break.

Voting continues until January 28th.
