Ayre Clay Target Club hosted their annual Penketh-Millar Handicap Trophy for English Skeet on New Year’s Day in bright but cold conditions.  This incorporated the third round of the Paul’s Gunstocks sponsored English Skeet Winter League.

The clear winner of the handicap competition was junior shooter Jordan Dougherty who well outshot his handicap to take the win on 83+36 for 119.  Ted Davis was second with 86+18 for 104 and Peter Chadney took third spot with 70+32 for 102.  High Gun was Jeff Corkill on 97/100.

Michael Cross and Marty Kneen were the joint winner of the 50 target league shoot, scoring 48/50.  Kevin Oates and Jeff Corkill were joint third with 47.

Class winners of the 50 target league competition:

A Class: 1=, Michael Cross and Marty Kneen 48; 3=, Jeff Corkill and Kevin Oates 47.

B Class: 1=, Eddie Brew and Nigel Moffatt 43; 3, Ted Kermeen 41.

C Class: 1, Ted Davis 45; 2, Jordan Dougherty 40; 3, Peter Chadney 32.

It was good to see all three junior shooters performing well; Michael Cross winning A Class and joint high gun in the league shoot, with Ted Davis and Jordan Dougherty first and second in C Class respectively.  Keep up the good work lads!

This week at Blue Point is the third round of the English Sporting league, sponsored by Chrystals Estate Agents.  Entries close at 10.15am.
