Fire service calls for smoke alarm resolution

The Island's fire service is encouraging Manx residents to make checking their smoke alarms their New Year's resolution.

The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service regularly promotes the Test It Tuesday campaign on social media, suggesting smoke detectors are checked once a week to make sure they're in working order.

As the start of 2017 approaches, fire officers want the public to mark their new calendars every Tuesday with a reminder to check their alarms.
