Nominations for Sports Awards open

Nominations for the annual Isle of Man Sports Awards open today.

10 prizes will be up for grabs at the ceremony in March, which will celebrate the achievements of sportsmen and women from the Island in 2016.

The categories include Sportsman and Woman of the Year, Isle of Man Ambassador and Coach of the Year.

Nominees have to be Manx born or have lived on the Island for at least two years, while those being put forward for the Under 21 awards must not turn 21 before the end of the year.

Nomination forms can be downloaded from isleofmansport.com, and must be submitted by the end of January.

Team GB's Olympic gold medal winning hockey captain Kate Richardson-Walsh will be the guest of honour at the awards.
