Ramsey Coastguard helped a local charity retrieve a bin from Sulby river.

Beach Buddies' bin at Poyll Doohey had been thrown into the river by vandals, becoming submerged in the river bed.

It's the second time in a month that the bin has been unchained and dumped in the river, but floods resulted in it being carried downstream this time, meaning the organisation needed help getting it back.

Beach Buddies, which works to keep the Island's coast tidy, says two young males were spotted in the area and police are investigating the incident.

Volunteers, including four members of the coastguard, dragged the bin back to the car park, where it's now chained and padlocked.
