Manx juries will be able to delivery a majority verdict in trials in the future.
The Isle of Man justice system has previously only accepted unanimous verdicts in jury trials.
However, Tynwald voted to approve a series of changes at this month's sitting, including increasing the panel to 12 jurors for all cases where the maximum sentence is more than 10 years.
Juries of 12 will be able to delivery a majority verdict when at least 10 jurors agree.
Douglas East MHK Chris Robertshaw, who was in charge of the committee which reviewed the Island's jury system, also withdrew a further option to set up a central citizen database of potential jurors
