Chief Minister to consider Manx living wage
Wed, 14 Dec 2016
Chief Minister Howard Quayle MHK
The Chief Minister confirmed he's interested in introducing a living wage on the Isle of Man.
Howard Quayle revealed considering bringing in the living wage will be included in the Council of Ministers Programme for Government.
The living wage, which is already in place in the UK, is designed to ensure lower earners bring in enough money to cover the cost of living, such as bills, accommodation and fuel.
A Government committee recently called for evidence ahead of a review of the minimum wage.
