Martin Moore produced a score near to what he has been getting in practice and his 97 helped Castletown pip IOMSC Douglas by a single point last week.
Those were the tongue-in-cheek comments of team mate Andy Bell and the team must have breathed a sigh of relief that they emerged victorious on the night in this turf war.
The cheerful Nigel Christian is proving something of a talisman for this club as the WS Cowin knock-out cup winner did the business again as he and Robin McFee also chipped in with 97s.
The Douglas team was shorn of some of their leading lights with Michael Duncalf and Sharon Drysdale unavailable for this clash due to family commitments.
The winter league has seen a good number of matches settled by just one point this season and this was the latest instalment.

POWERFUL PORT ST MARY SEE OFF SANDSIDERS
Defending league champions Port St Mary came back from their week off in the winter league and dismantled IOMSC Sandsiders at St John's. 99s from Ashley Gardner and Ben Kelly spearheaded their drive to retain their crown and, with a third of the season played, they have yet to be beaten.
Their division 2 and 3 matches were won with ease and IOMSC Sandsiders did not contest the Div 3 match due to lack of numbers.
Sadly, although Manx rifle shooting remains strong, there are only a few clubs whose numbers allow them to seriously contest fixtures across all divisions.

SULBY BACK TO WINNING WAYS
Sulby redeemed themselves after last week's defeat at Kirk Michael by getting the better of Laxey. Will Quayle and Julian Teare were the top guns with 98s and although Harry Creevy matched that it was not enough to prevent defeat.
