Police are reminding Manx companies that cold calling is illegal on the Isle of Man.
The Constabulary says it's received reports from residents in Douglas and Onchan of people calling at their homes without an appointment.
Delivering leaflets is permitted, but knocking to discuss the leaflet or to try to obtain work is against the law.
The law was brought in earlier this year prohibiting traders from seeking sales using cold calling techniques, including visiting an address without prior arrangement and on the telephone.
Anyone who is targeted by cold callers can report the issue to trading standards.
