One of the electric-powered bikes competing in next year's TT will be powered by renewable energy,

The Brunel University team's bike will be charged by a hydro turbine at the Salmon Lake Centre in Laxey rather than being plugged in like other TT Zero machines.

The team was particularly keen to use a local energy source, with the water at the hydro turbine coming off Snaefell.

Brunel, who have entered the TT Zero every year since its introduction, are also hoping to have two bikes on the start line in 2017.
