A campaign to protect the Douglas Bay Horse Trams says plans to shorten the length of the tramlines are crazy.
The Department of Infrastructure will present plans for the reconstruction of Douglas promenade to Tynwald later this month, which includes keeping double tracks between Summerhill and Broadway, but no service from Broadway to the Sea Terminal.
The Save The IOM Horse Tram campaign has taken to social media to describe the move as a farce, claiming it will result in the service running at a larger deficit, ultimately leading to calls for the service to be scrapped.
The group is also concerned that the shorter tracks will leave passengers with too far to walk to the steam railway.
The plans will be discussed when Tynwald sits next week.
