Roadworks on Mines Road in Foxdale are expected to continue until next summer.

The Department of Infrastructure says the short-term disruption of roadworks is vital for the long-term benefit of such schemes to the Island.

The body responsible for maintaining the Island's roads, harbours and breakwaters believes keeping key assets of the infrastructure in good condition is crucial for the social and economic wellbeing of the Island.

Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer was recently asked about the length and cost of Manx roadwork schemes in Tynwald, but he insists no two projects are the same and there are many factors affecting such schemes.

However, the Minister has confirmed that his Department is looking for more ways to work smarter, having introduced flexible shift patterns and mobile technology in recent years.

Full details of all the highways and structures projects scheduled for the current financial year can be found on the Government's website.
