Another closure in Strand Shopping Centre

Another store in the Strand Shopping Centre is to close later this year.

The Manx Crafters Gift Shop confirmed on its Facebook page that it will close its doors for the final time on December 31st, more than three years after opening in the centre.

It follows news that HMV will close in January, while Mothercare is shutting down on December 15th and Millets has been advertising a closing down sale.

The site was purchased by Sports Direct in July, with the retail giant confirming plans to open a store in multiple units in the shopping centre, putting the future of businesses remaining in the centre in doubt.
