Ramsey lifeboat crew were called out to help find an unmanned fishing vessel off the coast of the Island.
The boat was being towed by another vessel around 10 miles off the coast of Ramsey yesterday morning when the tow parted.
The team managed to find the fishing vessel drifting and unlit less than an hour after receiving the call.
The lifeboat towed the boat back to the other vessel so they could continue their journey from the Island to Workington.
Sea conditions played a part in the two boats losing contact, with the skipper of the towing vessel unable to re-establish the connection on his own.
The RNLI received the call at 5.45am and were able to stand down at 8.20am.
