The future of the horse trams will be discussed at this month's sitting of Tynwald.
Garff MHK Daphne Caine will ask the Infrastructure Minister to provide passenger numbers from this summer, and confirm whether they will operate in 2017.
Douglas Borough Council chose to end funding for the service, but the Government agreed a plan earlier this year to keep the trams running for another two years.
However, Ray Harmer's Department are currently working on plans to reconstruct Douglas promenade, which could have an effect on the tramlines.
Mr Harmer will make a statement on the service when Tynwald sits tomorrow.
