The Economic Development Minister is aiming to bring in changes to the work permit system in the next couple of months.
Laurence Skelly confirmed in this week's sitting of the House of Keys that his Department is looking to relax restrictions for the financial and professional services industry.
It's hoped making it easier for some sectors to bring workers to the Island will help drive economic growth and attract Manx graduates back to the Island in the future.
Mr Skelly revealed the DED is also looking at introducing a living wage, as well as encouraging midterm and midlife internships to encourage qualified worker back to the workplace.
The Minister, who was answering a question from Middle MHK Bill Shimmins, confirmed that he hopes to bring the proposed changes before Tynwald in the coming months.
