Changes could be made to jury trials on the Island if a string of proposed recommendations are approved at this month's sitting of Tynwald.
A report by a select committee into the operation of the Island's jury system will be presented when the Manx parliament sits next week.
MHK Chris Robertshaw, who was the chairman of the committee, will ask Tynwald to bring in 13 changes to the current system.
The recommendations include using juries of 12 for all cases involving a maximum sentence of more than 10 years and allowing majority verdicts like courts in England and Wales.
Mr Robertshaw will also call for jurors to be offered counselling and the maximum age for jury service to be increased to 75.
