The Policy and Reform Minister has confirmed Manx students who want to return to the Island after completing qualifications in nursing and teaching can apply for financial assistance.
Relocation packages are offered to those from elsewhere in the two professions when moving to the Island for work, but Onchan MHK Julie Edge wanted to know if the same help was available for locals who move away to study.
Chris Thomas confirmed in this week's sitting of the House of Keys that nurses are eligible for relocation expenses and a recruitment incentive if they return to the Island to work for the Department of Health and Social Care.
Meanwhile, teachers can apply for housing rental assistance, while the Department of Education and Children is trialing a student loan forgiveness scheme for those returning to teach locally.
