Motorists are being warned of the consequences if they ignore the road closures in Foxdale.
A major roadworks scheme got underway in the village last week, but some road users have been ignoring signs telling them the road is shut.
Police have seen one video of a motorcyclist using the pedestrian access area to get around the road closure, while others have been ignoring diversion signs.
Officers say this is extremely dangerous, and those caught flouting the road closure face a £120 fine and three points on their licence.
This morning is the first time the road closure has been in place during school term time, with queues expected in the area.
