Telephone masts will be discussed when the House of Keys sits next week.

Douglas North MHK David Ashford wants to know whether adequate attempts have been made for providers to share masts.

He'll also ask Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister Geoffrey Boot what criteria is used to decide whether a mast is visually intrusive.

Sure recently submitted a planning application for a mast to improve its coverage in Governor's Hill - which is in Mr Ashcroft's constituency.

In a statement on their website, Sure say a low visual impact antenna attached to a lamppost will improve its network more than attaching an antenna to Manx Telecom's proposed mast at Birch Hill.
