Manx Telecom is cutting up to 40 jobs as part of a programme to make the company more competitive.
The company announced the voluntary redundancy programme will be part of a scheme to reshape the business.
A statement announcing the job losses adds that significant investment is to be made in technology as part of what the telecoms provider is calling its "Transformation Programme".
The changes will be made over the next 18 to 24 months, with MT claiming it will make the company more effective in the fast-changing telecoms industry.
