Police are looking to identify a person responsible for wasting the emergency services' time overnight.
Fire crews and police officers were called out in Douglas at 1.15am after alarms were set off in Mona Street and Tynwald Street, but when they arrived they discovered the glass plates had been maliciously smashed without good reason.
Officers say such call outs are a waste of resources, and could result in the emergency services being unavailable for a real incident.
Anyone who can help police identify the culprit is asked to contact Police Headquarter on 631212.
