The Council of Ministers is to look at introducing a political post with responsibility for the Island's older generation.
Chief Minister Howard Quayle confirmed in this week's sitting of the House of Keys that the Cabinet will investigate whether such a position is necessary.
Onchan MHK Rob Callister asked Mr Quayle to consider bringing in a Minister or political membership for the elderly within an already existing Department.
The Department of Health and Social Care already has a political member for Adult Services.
