Free TV licences for the over 75s are to be restored with immediate effect on the Isle of Man.
Tynwald voted unanimously to reverse a change that came in last month, which had resulted in those over 75 having to pay for the licence, despite it remaining free in the UK for the same age group.
Douglas North MHK David Ashford brought a motion before Tynwald with an amendment from Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan, which will ensure those who have had to buy a licence since September 1st will receive a refund.
Charging for the licence had been met with opposition from organisations that support former servicemen and women, while many candidates who stood in the recent House of Keys General Election pledged to abolish the fee.
A rebate scheme will be brought before Tynwald next month.
