Mark Cavendish's world championship preparations are back on track following a bout of illness.
The Manx cyclist was forced to take time out after developing an intestinal infection last month, but returned to the saddle yesterday to finish sixth at Paris-Tours with Team Dimension Data.
The 31-year-old will now rest ahead of the men's road race at the UCI world championships, which takes place in Qatar on Sunday.
Cavendish, who was world champion in 2011, is among the favourites to win the rainbow jersey.
