Those with outpatient appointments at Noble's Hospital will now receive a reminder by text.
The Department of Health and Social Care has launched the service in a bid to cut the number of missed appointments.
Patients will receive a message three days before their appointment with a reminder of the time and date that they need to be at the hospital.
However, those who attend clinics at the hospital will have to opt in to receive the reminders as the service is optional.
Patients will still be notified of upcoming appointments by post, but will have the chance to update their contact details and sign up to the service when they next attend a clinic.
