Archbishop of York to visit Island

The Archbishop of York is to pay a visit to the Island over the next few days.

Dr John Sentamu will be touring the Diocese of Sodor and Man tomorrow and Friday.

The Archbishop will lead assemblies at Arbory School and Ballakermeen High School, as well as meeting with local charities and holding a question and answer session at Peel Cathedral.

The Island's bishop, Robert Paterson, will accompany Dr Sentamu throughout his visit.

The Archbishop's position makes him second only to the Archbishop of Canterbury in the Church of England, with his province including the north of England and the Isle of Man.
