New MHKs to be sworn in

MHKs being sworn in after the 2011 General Election.

Those elected at last week's General Election will be sworn in by the Island's First Deemster today.

The ceremony will include 12 first-time MHKs, five women and three members of the Liberal Vannin Party.

The Speaker of the House of Keys will also be elected today.

The Speaker's role was previously held by Steve Rodan, but the former Garff MHK took over as President of Tynwald earlier this year.
