Major roadworks get underway on one of the main roads in the north of the Island today.
The Department of Infrastructure is beginning a highway improvement scheme on Lezayre Road in Ramsey.
The project will see a new drainage system installed, a full depth reconstruction of the road and work to the pavements and kerbs, as well as improvements to the ride quality of the road.
The first phase of the work will involve traffic lights being in place 24 hours a day as well as a road closure at the top of Bircham Avenue.
Motorists are being advised to allow extra time for journeys in the area.
