Houghton: Smear Campaign cost me the Seat

John Houghton

A long standing Member has lost his seat in vitriolic circumstances and blames a smear campaign for his demise.

North Douglas Member John Houghton finished in third place having represented the area since 1996.

In May he was accused by the Tynwald Standards Committee of bullying and refused to apologise for his actions. He has always maintained his innocence and says that he is the victim of a media driven agenda against him.
