The Steam Packet Company is being forced to change sailing times to Heysham because of dredging problems and tidal conditions this weekend.
The Ben-my-Chree crossings will be affected from tomorrow until Monday, starting with the 8am sailing, which will now leave an hour late.
The ferry operator is blaming the port for not maintaining the dredging programme, resulting in a build-up of silt in the harbour entrance.
The company revealed that it only found out yesterday that the port had not been dredged to a sufficient level for clearance under the vessel's keel.
Full details of all the changes to this weekend's sailings can be found on the Steam Packet's website.
