Thieves steal from charity bucket

A local charity is appealing for thieves to return cash stolen from a collection bucket at a festival.

The Big Beat were raising funds for Craig's Heartstrong Foundation at the invite-only Tannyfest in Ballasalla last weekend when the cash was taken between 1am and 9am on Sunday.

The charity insists it's never had a problem leaving their charity buckets at events before, and felt safe leaving the money on site at an invite-only event.

It's not known exactly how much money was taken, but the bucket was full when thieves struck.

Police are investigating the theft, and anyone who has any information is asked to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
