MLC continues discussions over scrapping of TV licences

Further discussions have taken place about government's decision to scrap free TV licenses for the elderly. 
 
From tomorrow anyone aged 75 or over living on the Isle of Man will have to pay the full cost themselves - unless they are in receipt of benefits. 
 
It's a move that's expected to save government around £600,000 a year. 
 
Yesterday MLC David Cretney held a meeting with the Treasury and members of the Cabinet Office to discuss 'issues and options' for the future. 
 
Ex-service groups and the Manx Labour Party were represented at the meeting - Mr Cretney says he's concerned about the impact the changes will have:
